Proven ways to recharge mind and body
Regular Massages – According to experts, a twenty minute massage done religiously every week is excellent for mind and body maintenance. The body massages need not be done particularly by a professional. Anybody at home could do it for you.
Studies conducted in the United States reveal that individuals who received massage at least twice a week, experienced reduced levels of depression and anxiety, due to reduction in the level of the stress hormone, cortisol.
Meditation – Experts recommend ten minutes of meditation everyday – one need not take up a course, or anything – it only requires concentration on the sound of breathing.
Studies reveal that ten minutes of meditation is all that is required for recharge of body and mind, in addition to other positive health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, boosting immunity and releasing negative emotions.
Positive thinking – Doctors suggest replacing a negative thought with a positive one instantly. Whenever the words “no” or “I can’t” creep in, replace it with “I can”.
Research conducted at the Miami and Yale Universities reveal that individuals above fifty years of age, who had a positive outlook towards ageing, lived eight years longer, than those with negative views. They were also more energetic and recovered quickly from sickness.
Indulge your senses – Allow a few minutes everyday to indulge in whatever is pleasurable to the mind and body. Apart from breaking the monotony, it produces endorphins that flow at a healthy level.

The dreary daily routine can exhaust an individual mentally and physically. Massages and meditation can help to rejuvenate the mind and the body.
Giving the body and mind a recharge is often necessary. I prefer to hit the spa on the weekends when I feel too exhausted.
It is necessary to unwind at the end of the day. Some try meditation, massages, positive thinking, music, etc. to relax and unwind.
